Red Tangerine – ICAgile.com Authorised Instructor

Over the last few months, in collaboration with ICAgile I co-created (with 3 others) a class called “Lean-Agile UX – A collaborative approach to maximising value”. The course focuses on a UX team ethos to help deliver more value. During this time I also successfully completed an interview to become an accredited instructor.

Course Description: In this highly interactive 2-day class, you will learn how teams of people harnessing Agile values and collaborating together, can better empathise with their customers, explore complexity, and react to changing markets and technology to maximise value. You will practice techniques that foster innovation and learn how to develop ideas from inception through to implementation with the end user always at the centre of the solution.

You will explore how UX practices can be shared by the whole team, encouraging UX to become everyone’s responsibility. You will discover ways Agile, Lean UX, Lean Startup and Design Thinking allow you to go on a journey of iterative discovery with a focus on building products that rock your customers world!

The class itself can be found under the Product Owner track on ICAgile.com/roadmap and if you were to complete the course you’d earn the Business Value Analysis (ICP-BA) certification.

Legal & General – UX/ Product Designer (contract)

As part of a growing in-house Experience team based in London and Hove, holistically looking at all Legal and General products and services. With an aim to bring them closer together through evolving a Design Language System, consistent online and offline experiences.

I’ve been contracted work on the ‘Workplace Pensions and ISA’ Service and online platform that has over 3 million nationwide customers. This includes fully branded, co branded and L+G branded products that contain exciting features where you can manage your pension pot before and after retirement.

Currently focusing on IA, content placement and terminology to aid a broad range of users to throughly engage with their pension. I have the ability to engage internal and external workplace pension customers and stakeholders to make a truly human centred product. It’s an extremely interesting challenge working on this product due to the majority of customers are given the workplace pension, ergo those customers have not willingly engaged with our brand, Legal and General, for a pension.

Direct Line Group – UX Digital Designer (contract)

Mainly focusing on user research for the core Mid Term Adjustment (MTA) and the contact us flows for Direct Line website but also considering the Privilege and Churchill brand too. While working in an Agile environment mainly carried out un-moderated usability tests on What Users Do, competitive usability tests, Invision prototypes, Competitor analysis including 4 quadrant and SWOT and wireframing sessions with the dev team and PO.

Worked on the UI uplift of the GreenFlag iPhone and Android app.

Worked on improving the existing MTA journey to fit around existing company services for all 3 core brands, Direct Line, Privilege and Churchill

American Express – Lead UX Designer

Working with multiple scrum teams as UX lead, it’s my responsibility to work out what types of research and testing techniques we need to perform and deliverable’s to create, within set time periods and budget constraints. By working extremely closely with both business partners and Scrum teams, getting each party involved as much as possible in the UX and Agile approach, creates a huge amount of trust in what I can bring to the team and enhancing a User Centred approach. I regularly consult on different projects with different internal teams and products all over the campus so have a wide range of skills, including communication and collaboration.

My BAU is Maintaining high customer experience by working with 22 global markets, their internal data systems and improving the usability and efficiency of the call centre applications/ products. I regularly achieve this by carrying out focused research, such as ethnographic studies and 1-2-1 interviews directly (where possible) with our call centre professionals, maintain the Personas I created, carry out Card Sorting, Diary Studies, A/B Testing, Surveys, Remote Testing and more. I take that core data and display in real-time business intelligence dashboards from large community touch screens to personal mobile devices, so that our senior leaders can make cost effective prompt changes. I’m a true advocate towards collaboration, which is why I always make an effort to keep my UX deliverable’s accessible; by pinning up personas, using collaboration tools such as Confluence and Slack, taking up a wall with an affinity diagram of all the research etc.

Responsible for the UX research, visual design and HTML / CSS templating for a Pan-European e-Commerce Project, a car auction service which caters for multi-tenancies of major car manufacturers and dealers including BMW, Europcar, Hertz, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Renault and more.

Mentoring and guiding interns and junior team members on all aspects of UX design. Wireframing and sketching initial ideas to present them to wider team and end users. Visiting and arranging interview sessions with users. Assisting developers on user interface design and mark-up for new functionality in an Agile environment. Working closely with end to end users and business stakeholders throughout the whole development life cycle.
